We have taken the write-ups by Swami Chinmayananda.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.chinmayaupahar.in\/blog\/prayer\/\">Prayer<\/a>\u00a0is a very personal thing for most of us. We all pray at different altars and with different techniques. There is no right or wrong. But if we understand the various aspects of prayer and its effects, our relationship with God might become stronger.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">No worry or anxiety should be entertained at the worldly losses, as it is the\u00a0<\/span><\/i><br \/>\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nature of a true devotee to surrender constantly his limited self and all<\/span><\/i><br \/>\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s secular and sacred activities to the Lord of the heart.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><br \/>\n<i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">(Narad Bhakti Sutra VI:2:61)\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cNever entertain anxiety.\u201d \u201cDon\u2019t worry.\u201d \u201cNever mind what happens.\u201d &#8211; This is the attitude that a true seeker should cherish, explains the sage Narada. There is the Lord; He is the Reality. All these worries and anxieties are only mere bubbles &#8211; even when their threats and dangers are from the All-loving Lord alone &#8211; somehow hold on!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The cardinal attitude of heroism in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vedanta <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">is \u201cRefuse to weep; keep smiling.\u201d Then even the sorrow that reaches you gets ashamed and retires in its incompetency to make you suffer. O! beloved, I know you are just behind this very sorrow I am now facing&#8221; &#8211; this is the attitude of a true devotee in all his experiences, good or bad; and true enough, just behind the experience is the ever the consciousness divine, the effulgent one, constantly becoming forth its irrepressible glory.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cApart from Him, I don\u2019t exist\u201d declares the devotee of the Lord. \u201cEverything of me is already laid at the feet of the Lord. I do not exist, so I cannot worry about anything. It is all now his worry. I am but the \u2018witness\u2019 of the sorrow; as such the sorrow itself cannot be mine.\u201d Constantly the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">bhakta <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">lives in this attitude, dedicating himself, the world, the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Vedas, <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and everything to the Lord.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">By this attitude, the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">bhakta <\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">cultivates in himself the spirit of renunciation, the joy of surrender, and the constant sense of self-offering. &#8216;To give&#8217; is ever the expression of love. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff; text-decoration: underline;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.chinmayaupahar.in\/blog\/what-is-love\/\">Love<\/a><\/span><\/span> is measured by the very joy of sacrifice &#8211; of giving one\u2019s self and one\u2019s all to Him, the Beloved. How can one take back what has already been offered in love? When one\u2019s anxieties have been offered, whose worries are these?
