That process of cleansing is called spiritual practice or Sadhana.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">PROGRESS ON THE PATH<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The material world generally accepts quantitative evaluations as measures of prosperity and success:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> How much have you earned?<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> How much did you save, produce, sell and acquire?<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Material success depends on how much, how many, or how often.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1772 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.chinmayaupahar.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Path.jpg\" alt=\"Lighted Path\" width=\"550\" height=\"413\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.chinmayaupahar.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Path.jpg 4416w, https:\/\/blog.chinmayaupahar.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Path-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.chinmayaupahar.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Path-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.chinmayaupahar.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Path-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.chinmayaupahar.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Path-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spiritual seekers habitually apply the same quantitative measures in estimating their own inner achievements. Automatically they congratulate themselves on the quantity of their \u201cglorious sadhana\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">However, quantitative measures are false indicators of spiritual progress. In spiritual practice:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> It is not how much we read,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> But how much we understand and<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Reflect and meditate upon the concepts that assure success.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> The quality, intensity, sincerity, devotion,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> understanding, and enthusiasm of the heart<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with which we do our sadhana determine the true heights to which we rise in our self-mastery.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1771 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.chinmayaupahar.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Meditation.jpg\" alt=\"Meditation\" width=\"551\" height=\"414\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.chinmayaupahar.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Meditation.jpg 2238w, https:\/\/blog.chinmayaupahar.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Meditation-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.chinmayaupahar.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Meditation-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.chinmayaupahar.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Meditation-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.chinmayaupahar.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Meditation-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 551px) 100vw, 551px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spiritual seekers often suffer chronically from lack of progress on the path.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From their diaries, it is clear that if quantity alone were demanded in spiritual practice, such seekers would have nothing more to do.\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">And yet their experience is that they find themselves exactly where they were three years ago. Indeed, it is a painful disappointment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The cure for such seekers is easy to prescribe, but perhaps more difficult to practice.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1770 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/www.chinmayaupahar.in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Geeta.jpg\" alt=\"The Holy Geeta\" width=\"550\" height=\"413\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.chinmayaupahar.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Geeta.jpg 2456w, https:\/\/blog.chinmayaupahar.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Geeta-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blog.chinmayaupahar.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Geeta-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.chinmayaupahar.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Geeta-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.chinmayaupahar.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/Geeta-400x300.jpg 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 550px) 100vw, 550px\" \/><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What they need is a sharpened tempo in their spiritual seeking:<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> a quickening of perception,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> alertness of the soul,<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and a warmer ardency in their embrace of the goal.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These qualities cannot be developed by themselves, one at a time; but seekers will find themselves, absorbing them when their minds gain a deeper harmony.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Harmony comes as a result of two processes:<\/span><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Discrimination (vivek):<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The positive process of gaining a clear picture of the all-satisfying goal and the straight path to it.<\/span><\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Detachment, dispassion (vairagya):<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The negative process of detachment from all dissipating urges.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Once these two qualities are carefully cultivated and fully developed \u2014 discriminating appreciation of the Real and detachment from the false \u2014 the rest of the pilgrimage becomes pleasant and sure, though in no way easy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><a style=\"color: #0000ff;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.chinmayaupahar.in\/packs\">Sadhana or Wellness Packs<\/a><\/span> are an aid for your self unfoldment.
